ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a dance artist. Sewn into the fabric of my artistry are threads tying me to choreography, performance, education, research, and adjudication. I work on stage and film to seek and stimulate relationships between moving bodies and viewing bodies through the senses. I invite connection. I create curiosity.

As I create, I prioritize experiments and questions. I welcome unintended mistakes, and therefore unexpected discoveries. It is important to me that I carve space for learning, relearning, and unlearning in order to grow and develop into the fullest version of myself.

Threads of relationship, connection, and curiosity weave inside us as individuals, but they also entwine us as a collective. What happens when we become the experience rather than simply part of it? The medium of movement is my starting point.
